About Greenpower Canada
Greenpower Canada is a Toronto-based non-profit youth organization that inspires and empowers young people to take leadership locally and globally to achieve socio-economic development through conservation and environmental initiatives.
Since its inception in 2001, Greenpower has reached thousands of youth through numerous conferences and workshops. Internationally, Greenpower has established a rural energy program to promote socio-economic development in Orissa, India as well supporting numerous community conservation awareness activities.

Register for Greenpower's Seventh Annual Earth Day Conference, held on
Friday April 17 2009, 9:00am-3:30pm at the North York Civic Centre.

The theme of this year’s conference is Environmental Health, and we have an exciting list of speakers, workshops and activities. The conference will provide students with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of environmentalism and expose them to prominent citizens and environmental advocates across the city.
We are inviting student leaders from each high-school to attend. The cost of attending is $5.00 per delegate, with a vegetarian lunch and light breakfast included.
Advance registration is required, and will continue on a first-come first-served basis. Please e-mail us at greenpower.executive@gmail.com to confirm your participation, as space is limited.

Greenpower's seventh annual Earth Day Conference is quickly approaching!
If you would like to get involved in helping us coordinate this exciting conference, contact us at greenpowercanada@gmail.com. We will be holding an info/training session for volunteers on April 14th, 3pm-4pm in the Larkin Buttery (UofT)
This year's conference, with a theme of Environmental Health, will be held on Friday 17 April 2009 at the North York Civic Centre, and will gather 150 high school student leaders and teachers from across the GTA. The conference seeks to increase student awareness, initiative and capacity though a series of speakers, interactive discussions and group seminars. We hope to empower and encourage students to take initiative in their school communities, and to facilitate a network of environmentally-conscious global citizens. Session leaders from past conferences have included Hon. Laurel Broten (Ontario Minister of the Environment), Councillor Adam Giambrone (Toronto City Councillor, TTC Chair), and Dr. Rebecca Spindler (Conservation Biologist, Toronto Zoo).
Greenpower Canada is hosting a fun eco-themed bingo night!
Thursday March 19, 2009 from 8:00pm-9:30pm in the Hart House North Dining Room (7 Hart House Circle, Toronto) This event is part of the University of Toronto's Envirofest week -- www.envirofest.me
Come play a game or two with friends, and dab those bingo cards for awesome prizes. Refreshments included. See you there!
